Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tomato (chopped)
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (potato, peas, carrots, beans)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups water
- Fresh coriander for garnish
Instructions:
- Wash and soak rice for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil/ghee in a pot, add cumin seeds and bay leaf.
- Add onions and sauté until golden.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and tomatoes; cook till soft.
- Add veggies, turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala, and salt.
- Mix in the soaked rice and water.
- Cover and cook on a low flame till rice is done and the water is absorbed.
- Fluff gently and garnish with coriander.
- Serve hot with curd or pickle for a hearty meal
